The city of Saint-Stanislas in the Mauricie region is located at the confluence of the Batiscan River and the Envies River. It was founded in 1765, and as early as 1781, a seigniorial mill was built. Numerous people thus came to settle in this valley. Throughout the years, they built sawmills that assured prosperity to the inhabitants.
Nowadays, Saint-Stanislas is a very enjoyable city. In summer, the parc de la rivière Batiscan invites inhabitants and visitors to cool down in the river, to go on a canoe excursion or to fish. A boat-launching ramp is available to sailors. In winter, you can take advantage of the 12 kilometres of cross-country skiing paths.
