A House Built Under a Lucky Star

In July 1996, the rivers of the Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean region broke into a rage, dragging with them millions of litres of water and debris. The result: several landslides, numerous houses adrift and a large number of flooded houses.

By a curious coincidence, a little white house was able to hold the millions of litres of water that rushed on each side and through the house, the equivalent of the water in the Niagara Falls during several days!

Nowadays, you can visit the famous Petite Maison Blanche (little white house). In its museum, you will find scale-models and movies that explain how this natural phenomenon destroyed so much.
