The main entrance door to the parc national du Saguenay, Rivière-Éternité is located in the most spectacular part of the fjord. In this area, you can go hiking, go on sea kayak excursions or on cruises to admire the Trinité and Éternité Capes. You can also visit the interpretation centre explaining the formation of the fjord and its marine wildlife. In winter, ice fishing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are very popular in the region.
In the basement of the church, you will find the Exposition internationale de crèches (international crèche exhibition). This isn’t just a coincidence if the village’s nicknamed is “the village of crèches”. Around 250 crèches and nativity scenes are shown, and the collection has unique pieces from 55 different countries. Twenty life-size crèches are also shown in the parc municipal des Artistes along the road. In winter, each inhabitant of the village puts an illuminated crèche in front of their house, which creates a magical atmosphere.
