It’s in Saint-Fulgence that you will find the main entrance for the parc national des Monts-Valin. This park conceals 900-metre-high peaks, spectacular viewpoints, rivers and numerous water bodies on which you can go hiking, fishing or canoeing. The diversified wildlife and flora will certainly please bird watchers, botanists and mycologists. In winter, skiers can do their favourite sport in the snowy valleys and on the windy peaks.
A little farther, located in a 183 hectare forest, the Parc Aventure Cap Jaseux welcomes you and invites you to live the unique earth-sea-air-river experience! This “Tree to Tree” circuit proposes you 5 different paths with 73 suspended bridges and a spectacular view on the fjord. Sea kayak excursions, boat or zodiac cruises and hiking trails are other activities you can do on the site.
At the summit of the cap des Roches, the centre d’interprétation des battures et de réhabilitation des oiseaux (CIBRO) was created to protect and heal birds of prey and return them to their natural habitat. More than 250 bird species gather in the brackish marshes of the Saguenay River, and the 650-meter-long rocky spit represents a geographical particularity of the region and one of the best places from where to observe the purple sandpiper. At the summit of the mountain, you will have access to three observatories from where you can admire the beauty of the fjord. For art lovers, the Atelier de sculpture, peinture et poterie de l’Anse au Foin presents you the work of the artist Louise Paré.
